Job summary

HS2 Ltd is seeking a Senior Cost Analyst based in London to lead analysis and verification of cost performance at programme and contract level. You will support budgets, actual costs, forecasts, and Earned Value Management (EVM) to help deliver HS2.

You will manage data quality, validate cost performance inputs from delivery teams, and drive continuous improvement within the Cost Performance function, aligning with HS2’s governance and business objectives.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Project Controls and cost processes within complex organisations.
• Knowledge of NEC contracts, amendments, early warning notices, and the workflows of communications between contractor and client.
• Knowledge of the core Project Controls disciplines, including Schedule Management, Change Management and Risk Management.
• Knowledge of baseline development and maintenance of baselines on a major programme.

Responsibilities

• Lead on analysis and verification of cost performance at programme and contract level.
• Validate cost performance data submitted by delivery teams as part of communicating overall programme performance to Project Controls and Programme Management Office.
• Support the Head of Cost and Estimating in managing the cost performance team, setting key time and quality targets.
• Ensure adherence with cost performance processes and procedures across the respective programme and for storing and maintaining data and documents accurately within the corporate systems.
• Communicate key updates to the cost performance team and ensure alignment with current business process and ways of working.
• Work closely with Areas to develop defined work-streams to progressively enhance cost performance capabilities.
• Lead on continuous improvement of the Cost Performance function within the Phase One programme and ensure governance processes are in place.
