Job summary

HS2 Ltd is seeking a senior Cost Performance professional to lead the analysis and validation of programme cost data from Birmingham and London sites. You will support budgeting, forecasts and Earned Value Management to enable successful delivery of HS2.

You will manage data quality, guide the cost performance team, and drive continuous improvement across cost reporting and governance, with collaborative work across areas and finance.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Project Controls and cost processes within complex organisations.
• Knowledge of multiple construction contract types (NEC etc.) and their benefits to client organisations.
• Core project controls disciplines: Schedule, Change, Risk management.
• Baseline development and maintenance on a major programme.

Responsibilities

• Lead on the analysis and verification of programme and contract cost performance and ensure data reflects current performance for reporting.
• Lead validation of cost performance data submitted by delivery teams for reporting to Project Controls and PMO.
• Support Head of Cost and Estimating in managing the cost performance team and setting targets.
• Ensure adherence with cost performance processes and store data accurately within corporate systems.
• Communicate updates to the cost performance team aligned to business processes.
• Develop work-streams to progressively enhance cost performance capabilities within the Phase.
• Lead continuous improvement of Cost Performance and governance, capturing lessons learnt.
• Resolve system technical queries for delivery teams (EVM, Income Accounts) and integrations.
• Coordinate with Finance on uWBS implementation, quarterly forecasts, and monthly updates for indirects.
• Systemise new business requirements and implement them in cost management functions.
