Job summary

Vivo Talent is seeking an experienced Cost Engineer for a precision engineering manufacturer in Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire. You will develop accurate cost models for complex machined components, supporting quotations and manufacturing strategy.

Close collaboration with Engineering, Operations and Commercial teams is essential to balance cost and profitability. The role requires CNC milling/turning costing expertise, reading drawings and GD&T, and strong commercial awareness.

Qualifications

• Experience in Cost Engineering, Estimating, Manufacturing Engineering or Process Engineering.
• Strong understanding of CNC milling and turning operations.
• Experience costing complex machined components.
• Knowledge of aluminium, stainless steel, titanium and exotic alloys.
• Understanding of heat treatment and finishing processes.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Commercial awareness and strong analytical skills.
• Experience in aerospace, defence, medical or precision engineering environments would be highly advantageous.

• Costing precision machined components from customer drawings and CAD models.

• Costing raw materials, tooling, fixtures and subcontract processes.
• Supporting quotation and bid activities.

I'm currently recruiting for an experienced Cost Engineer to join a growing precision engineering manufacturer based in Tewkesbury.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in CNC machining, process planning, manufacturing engineering, and component costing who enjoys combining technical expertise with commercial decision-making. You'll play a key role in supporting the business's quotation and manufacturing strategy by developing accurate cost models for complex machined components. Working closely with Engineering, Operations, and Commercial teams, you'll be responsible for analysing customer requirements, defining manufacturing routes, estimating machining times, and ensuring quotations are both competitive and profitable.

Key Responsibilities

What We're Looking For
