Corrosion Scientist – Liverpool

Join our Oilfield and Industrial Chemicals Team. Baker Hughes is seeking a corrosion scientist to work in the Integrity Management Technology team based at the Liverpool Centre of Excellence site. You will be comfortable working around production chemicals in a laboratory setting and be able to handle multiple tasks/projects simultaneously. You will collaborate with other members of the technology team, customers and other relevant stakeholders on a regular basis.

Responsibilities
  • Performing corrosion inhibitor evaluations in a laboratory research environment
  • Conducting atmospheric, high temperature and pressure autoclave testing on oil, water samples and product formulations
  • Communicating and presenting data to clients and other relevant stakeholders
  • Analysing and interpreting technical data to help customers solve their problems and produce aligned technical reports
  • Practicing safe working habits, including complying with HSE rules and regulations
  • Handling special projects as assigned
Qualifications
  • Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related subject
  • Some experience in a lab setting with corrosion applications
  • Project management skills: ability to handle multiple projects concurrently and maintain high standards
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Team Player mindset
  • Ability to work on own initiative once fully trained
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-volume environment, with adaptability to changing project requirements and deadlines
