Job Description:

Pure Search is instructed by one of the leading sports teams in the UK and internationally. Our client is a globally respected sports practice involved in high-profile sports matters such as club takeovers, advising governing bodies, and strategic player transfer advice.

Based with the Corporate team, your role will focus on transactional sports work, including domestic and international M&A, private equity investments, fundraisings, venture capital, joint ventures, reorganisations, and public takeovers.

The Role:

This position suits a junior to mid-level corporate associate (2-4PQE) aspiring to specialize in sports, media, and entertainment sectors. You will advise investors and rights holders on corporate transactions, governance, and regulatory matters central to sports.

Responsibilities include:

• M&A and private equity investments in sports assets, including Premier League clubs
• Advising tech startups in sports and media sectors
• Financing of football clubs and international sports competitions
• Financial Fair Play and Salary Cap advisory
• Sponsorship, merchandising, and licensing arrangements
• Establishing new sports competitions globally

This role offers the chance to work with an international law firm and develop a niche in the sports law market.

About You:

You should be an England & Wales qualified solicitor with at least 2 years PQE in a broad corporate role at a leading City or international law firm, preferably with investment and PE experience. Experience in sports law isn't mandatory, but familiarity with related sectors like technology, media, or retail is advantageous. A keen interest in business development and building a client base is desirable.
