Job summary

Douglas Scott Global Recruitment is seeking a paralegal with experience in corporate or corporate and commercial law to join a professional, collaborative and supportive environment in Walsall. You will work closely with solicitors and partners on corporate transactions and commercial contracts, providing essential legal and administrative support to the Corporate Team.

Qualifications

• Paralegal experience in corporate or corporate and commercial team.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines and maintain an effective diary system.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Confidence managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to build effective relationships with clients and colleagues.
• Good IT skills, particularly Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Collaborative approach and initiative to progress matters independently.

Responsibilities

• Assist solicitors and partners with mergers and acquisitions, business sales and purchases, corporate restructurings and other corporate transactions.
• Assist with drafting, amending and proofreading legal documents.
• Support legal due diligence exercises, including populating and managing electronic data rooms.
• Assist with transaction completions and post-completion processes.
• Maintain transaction checklists, action lists and completion timetables.
• Prepare completion bibles and maintain electronic transaction records.
• Prepare and submit Companies House filings.
• Assist with commercial contract matters.
• Liaise with clients, accountants, financial advisers, lenders and external solicitors.
• Ensure matters progress efficiently and in accordance with firm procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Provide legal and administrative support to the wider Corporate Team.
