Job description

The Opportunity

VANRATH is working with a highly regarded professional services firm in Belfast to recruit a Manager into its established Corporate Finance, Restructuring and Forensic Accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious accountancy professional looking for a varied advisory role, strong client exposure and the chance to work on interesting assignments across Northern Ireland and the wider UK market. The team works across a broad range of advisory services, including corporate insolvency, business restructuring, valuations, mergers and acquisitions, financial due diligence and forensic accounting. The variety of work offers the successful candidate the opportunity to develop a broad commercial skill set, build strong client relationships and contribute to projects from an early stage. The firm has an established client portfolio, a strong pipeline of work and a stable platform for continued growth. You will join an experienced team with the opportunity to work closely with senior professionals and develop your career in a supportive environment.

What You Will Do
  • Manage a varied portfolio of corporate finance, restructuring, insolvency and advisory assignments.
  • Prepare high-quality reports, providing clear, accurate and commercially relevant analysis and recommendations.
  • Undertake detailed financial analysis, investigations and reviews, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail throughout.
  • Contribute to valuations, financial due diligence, transaction-related assignments and forensic accounting projects.
  • Support corporate insolvency and restructuring engagements, helping clients navigate complex financial and business challenges.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, directors, lenders, creditors, solicitors and other professional advisers.
  • Take ownership of assignments, managing deadlines and ensuring work is delivered to a high standard.
  • Work collaboratively with Partners, Directors and colleagues across the wider advisory team.
  • Support and mentor junior team members, contributing to their technical development and progression.
What's in It for You?
  • Genuine variety: Exposure to an interesting mix of restructuring, insolvency, valuations, transactions and forensic assignments.
  • Strong client exposure: Work directly with clients and professional advisers, developing your commercial understanding and relationship management skills.
  • Interesting projects: Contribute to complex and rewarding assignments across a range of industries and business situations.
  • An established platform: Join a firm with a strong, stable client portfolio and a consistent flow of advisory work.
  • A supportive culture: Enjoy a warm, friendly and relaxed working environment where people work closely together and relationships matter.
  • An experienced team: Learn from established Partners and Directors while having the autonomy to take ownership of your own work.
  • Career development: Build your technical expertise and broaden your experience across multiple advisory disciplines.
Requirements
  • Qualified accountant, ideally ACA or ACCA, with relevant post-qualification experience.
  • Experience within restructuring, corporate insolvency, corporate finance, valuations, financial due diligence or forensic accounting.
  • Strong report-writing skills, with the ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and accurately.
  • Excellent analytical skills and a strong eye for detail.
  • A proactive approach to managing assignments, meeting deadlines and maintaining high standards of work.
  • Confident communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective client relationships.
  • A commercial mindset, a willingness to learn and the ability to work effectively as part of a close-knit team.
  • A positive, approachable personality and a genuine interest in working collaboratively with colleagues and clients.

Candidates with experience in one or more of these advisory areas are encouraged to apply. A broad background across every service line is not essential; the key is strong technical ability, quality reporting and the appetite to develop within a varied advisory environment.
