Job summary

AAB is seeking a Corporate Finance Manager / Senior Manager in Belfast to join Northern Ireland’s leading corporate finance team. The role is permanent and focused on advising ambitious family businesses, entrepreneurs and investors on high-profile transactions.

You will work with experienced dealmakers on M&A, fundraising and strategic advisory assignments, building client relationships and delivering high-quality advice across the deal cycle.

Qualifications

  • Accountancy qualification such as CAI or equivalent.
  • Experience in a similar corporate finance role.
  • Expertise in technical compliance and advisory work.
  • Experience working to tight deadlines.
  • Strong client portfolio management and engagement.
  • Experience in leading teams and business development.

Responsibilities

  • Lead corporate finance transactions incl. acquisitions, disposals, and fundraising.
  • Provide high quality corporate finance advice across transactions.
  • Project manage transactions with partners and senior managers.
  • Prepare proposal documents for Partner review.
  • Develop knowledge of procedures and techniques in corporate finance.
  • Produce reports and presentations for meetings and external distribution.

ROLE PURPOSE

Purpose of the role/key responsibilities:

  • Facilitate successful delivery of corporate strategy assignments in conjunction with corporate finance transactions
  • Lead the provision of high quality corporate finance advice to clients across all types of corporate finance transactions
  • Project manage corporate finance transactions, including acquisitions, disposals, due diligence, share valuations and fundraising
  • With support from Partners and Senior Managers, deliver high quality corporate finance advice to clients across all types of corporate finance transactions
  • Prepare proposal documents for Partner review
  • Develop comprehensive knowledge of corporate finance advisory work, procedures, processes and techniques
  • Demonstrate working knowledge and experience of financial modelling and ability to review models and advise staff and clients accordingly
  • Perform detailed work as may be required, particularly work of an advanced technical nature, and produce detailed advice and recommendations, with due regard to risk
  • Produce and present high quality reports, presentations and analysis for meetings and external distribution
  • Demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge and experience of executing corporate finance transactions
  • Demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge of accounting practices and financial analysis
  • Utilise existing knowledge and further develop sector specialisms, using market knowledge and contacts to undertake deal initiation activities to support the department business development activities
Experience & qualifications

Experience and skill set required for the role:

  • Accountancy qualification, such as CAI or equivalent
  • Previous experience of working in a similar role
  • Expertise in technical compliance and advisory work
  • Experience of working to tight deadlines
  • Experience of handling a client portfolio with strong client engagement
  • Experience of managing teams
  • Experience of networking and business development
