Job summary

FRP Advisory Group is seeking a qualified Manager to deliver restructuring, turnaround, and insolvency solutions. You will lead high-impact engagements, shape strategic outcomes for stressed businesses, and grow client relationships while mentoring junior team members.

As part of the Restructuring team, you will oversee administrations, liquidations, and CVAs, with a focus on practical, commercially-driven solutions and compliance with professional standards in a dynamic market.

Qualifications

  • Degree educated; CII/CPI required; ACA/ACCA advantageous.
  • Deep expertise in restructuring, turnaround, and insolvency within a professional services/advisory environment.
  • Significant experience in corporate restructuring.
  • Strong knowledge of UK insolvency legislation & restructuring frameworks.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and insolvency case management systems (IPS).

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a diverse portfolio of restructuring and insolvency engagements across multiple sectors.
  • Provide strategic advice and practical solutions to underperforming or distressed businesses.
  • Oversee administrations, liquidations, and CVAs.
  • Lead corporate transactions including negotiating terms and sale documentation.
  • Conduct detailed financial analysis including cash flow forecasting and recovery planning.
  • Develop and implement strategic recovery plans tailored to client needs.
  • Advise on financial restructuring, distressed M&A and performance improvement.
  • Engage with banks, investors, and legal advisors to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Collaborate with legal, finance and operations teams for seamless delivery.
  • Build and maintain trusted client relationships with lenders and stakeholders.
  • Contribute to business development and market positioning; mentor juniors.
  • Ensure compliance with legislation, standards and internal policies.
  • Take lead on high-impact, complex restructurings with cross-functional teams.

Role overview

As a Manager within our Restructuring team, you will play a pivotal role in delivering restructuring, turnaround, and insolvency solutions. You’ll be responsible for managing high-impact engagements, shaping strategic outcomes for stressed and distressed businesses, and contributing to the firm’s growth through strong client relationships and market insight. This role demands a seasoned professional with deep technical expertise, commercial acumen, and a proven track record of success in challenging and dynamic environments. Development of less experienced team members will also be a key part of the role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a diverse portfolio of restructuring and insolvency assignments across a range of sectors
  • Deliver strategic advice and practical solutions to underperforming or distressed businesses
  • Oversee formal insolvency processes including administrations (both trading and pre-pack), liquidations, and CVAs
  • Evidence an ability to lead corporate transactions including negotiation of commercial terms and sale documentation
  • Conduct detailed financial analysis, including cash flow forecasting and recovery planning would be an advantage but not essential
  • Develop and implement strategic recovery plans tailored to client needs
  • Advise on financial restructuring, distressed M&A and performance improvement
  • Engage with banks, investors, legal advisors and other stakeholders to deliver integrated financial solutions
  • Collaborate with legal, finance and operational teams to ensure seamless project delivery
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with clients, lenders and other key stakeholders
  • Contribute to business development efforts, including proposal writing and market positioning
  • Mentor and develop junior team members, fostering a culture of learning and high performance
  • Ensure all work complies with relevant legislation, professional standards and internal policies
  • Take a lead role in high-impact, complex restructuring engagements, often involving cross-functional teams and senior-level stakeholders
Qualifications
  • Degree educated and CII / CPI required. ACA / ACCA or equivalent qualification is advantageous but not required. JIEB obtained or looking to complete the qualification desirable.
  • Deep expertise in restructuring, turnaround, and insolvency developed within a professional services or advisory environment
  • Significant experience in corporate restructuring preferred
  • Strong technical knowledge of UK insolvency legislation and restructuring frameworks
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Commercially astute with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and insolvency case management systems (e.g., IPS)
  • Capable of managing multiple priorities and leading teams across concurrent projects
  • Proven experience of training junior members of staff and a willingness to do so
