Job Description:

The Construction Manager is an experienced member of a flexible central Construction Team that sets standards and provides support to Cubico’s global development and construction teams. This is a UK based role focused on evaluating risks during development and acquisition, preparing projects for construction, ensuring governance procedures are followed, and supporting during construction and handover.

The ideal candidate will be open, self-motivated, and culturally adaptable. They should have an engineering or technical background, understand commercial drivers, and be capable of coaching others. Extensive experience in utility-scale renewable energy projects and project finance awareness is desirable.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead by example on safety and act as a role model
  • Support local teams through development, pre-construction, and construction phases to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget, meet quality and performance targets, and manage risks
  • Manage stakeholder and contractor relationships, resolve challenges, and identify valuation upsides
  • Participate in project development and construction oversight, including the UK battery project
  • Negotiate contracts and collaborate with procurement
  • Develop and improve processes for pre-construction and construction activities
  • Support local teams in project handover and lessons learned dissemination
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise:
  • Degree in engineering with relevant experience
  • Proven success in renewable energy construction projects
  • Experience managing third-party contracts and understanding engineering processes
  • Strong problem-solving, negotiation, and contractual skills
  • Knowledge of project finance documents
  • Commitment to health, safety, and environmental standards
  • Excellent communication skills in English; additional languages are a plus
