This role sits within the Corporate Coverage team which is responsible for managing the relationship between the bank and its corporate clients, offering across the UK platform and worldwide.

The Corporate Coverage team promotes a wide product suite including M&A, DCM, ECM.

As an Analyst, you will be expected to assist on a full range of activities in the team including marketing, executing, and regulating activities.

  • Accountable as an intermediate/developing professional within Corporate Coverage for the delivery of routine activities to support the marketing, origination, and execution of transactions/files such as: routine marketing, executing, and regulation activities including the preparation of presentations, pitches, financial analysis, credit papers, and general submissions to Risk.
  • Applies existing policies and procedures within established guidelines related to Corporate Coverage to all tasks in order to reliably deliver routine outputs for clients with a high standard of quality.
  • Has full autonomy for routine tasks (deal execution, portfolio management, client management, risk analysis, marketing) and participates in internal communications with relevant internal stakeholders to facilitate work within Corporate Coverage, driving effective delivery of all tasks.
  • Maintains and updates internal systems related to risk, marketing, and general management.
  • Contributes to client events, calls & meetings, sales/deal-related client interactions.
  • Responsible for undertaking a risk analysis on a portfolio of clients, which includes forming an opinion on the creditworthiness of each request and client.
  • Will present this opinion to Risk colleagues, under the supervision of senior colleagues, and manage the relevant processes, policies, and systems related to Risk.
  • Works under own initiative where possible but refers more complex and technical issues to more senior colleagues in a timely manner for resolution and advice.
  • May delegate some tasks to junior team members where appropriate.
  • Prioritises workload as required to support the team and achieve personal development and growth objectives within agreed timescales.
  • Collaborates with team members and other teams and begins to offer solutions to problems.

Experience required:

  • 18-24 months experience working in another Corporate Banking role or rolling off a graduate scheme.
  • Professional qualification required with technical and broad understanding to an intermediate level of Corporate Coverage.
  • A university degree.
  • Strong knowledge of financial analysis and ability to meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Strong personal focus on accuracy and attention to detail, with the ability to review and improve the work of more junior colleagues.
  • Good knowledge of BNPP, the industry, and its products/services, with a demonstrable capacity and willingness to continue developing market awareness autonomously and to learn and improve performance.
  • Good written and oral English skills to articulate technical issues associated with the work area.
  • Able to guide and support colleagues in their performance and development.
  • Computer literacy and a good knowledge of standard software such as Microsoft Office and email.
