The Client

Our client is a highly regarded diverse specialist UK bank offering a range of straightforward and competitive savings and deposit products.

The Role

The Successful Payments Analyst sits within the Banking Operations team and will be responsible for monitoring the day-to-day payment operations for the Bank including STP payments, managing and maintaining payment provider relationships and the daily management of the banking firms’ balances.

The successful candidate will also be heavily involved in any project work to help best improve efficiency for payment related processes throughout the banking firm.

The Payments Analyst (Banking Operations) will professionally act as the point of contact for any payment related queries both internally and externally, ensuring that all outgoing STP payments are approved and released and that all transactions are to be handled within Service Level Agreements.

The Payments Analyst (Banking Operations) will confidently complete daily reconciliations of Nostro accounts, ensuring balances meet daily cashflow requirements and liaising with the appropriate desks to ensure sufficient funding.

The Payments Analyst (Banking Operations) role is to maintain payment policies and procedures, prepare data for monthly and ad-hoc reporting, and is expected to be heavily involved in any project related work in terms of investigating, testing and implementing changes and payment process improvements.

Candidate

A credible background in payments specifically including payments in sterling (BACS, CHAPS, Faster Payments, Cheque clearing and SWIFT)

Some experience improving payments processes – highly beneficial

Highly numerate and IT literate

Good organisational skills
