Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a Maths Tutor to support children and young people in Havant and surrounding areas with personalised 1:1 tuition. Working on behalf of Local Authorities, you will deliver tailored maths support to learners at varying levels.

The role offers flexible hours, a September start, and competitive pay of £25-£30 per hour. You will promote confidence, improve mathematical understanding, and help students engage with learning while meeting SEND/EHCP needs where applicable.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months' experience in an educational setting (tutoring, teaching, TA, mentoring, or similar).
• Strong maths subject knowledge and ability to deliver personalised learning sessions.
• Experience supporting learners with SEND, EHCPs, or additional needs is desirable.

Responsibilities

We're looking for a Maths Tutor to support children and young people across Havant and the surrounding areas through personalised 1:1 tuition.

Working on behalf of Local Authorities, you'll provide tailored support to learners who require alternative educational provision. Students may be working at a range of levels and often benefit from dedicated support that helps strengthen mathematical understanding, improve confidence, and increase engagement with learning.

Whether you're supporting learners with core numeracy skills or helping students work towards qualifications, you'll have the opportunity to make a genuine difference through targeted, individualised support.

Requirements

• Minimum 6 months' experience in an educational setting, including tutoring, teaching, teaching assistant, learning support, mentoring, or similar roles
• Strong Maths subject knowledge
• Ability to deliver engaging and personalised learning sessions
• Experience supporting learners with SEND, EHCPs, or additional needs is desirableStrong communication and relationship-building skills
• Patient, adaptable, and encouraging approach
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
• Driver preferred; alternatively, willingness to travel locally around Havant and surrounding areas
