Job summary

Capita in partnership with the Royal Navy seeks an experienced professional to mentor the next generation of engineers at HMS Sultan, Portsmouth. This full-time, term-time role supports training across Coppersmith and Pipefitter skills, with SC level clearance required.

You will update materials, assess trainees, and maintain safety and KPIs, while enjoying onsite facilities and flexible benefits. The role offers pro rata salary for 45 weeks per year.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 3 Technical Certificate in an Engineering discipline.
• Be proficient in the use of IT (hardware/software) within the workplace.
• Competent practical Copper smith/Pipefitter hand skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide training on how to fit pipework on ships from a drawing (Fit from design).
• Teaching Brazing techniques.
• Maintain strong working relationships with customers and colleagues within the Marine Engineering Electrical training area.
• Support trainee development through assessment, feedback, and personalised learning approaches.
• Maintain and update training materials, and contribute to modernising and improving training delivery.
• Ensure compliance with KPIs, SLAs, and safety standards, while maintaining a CPD portfolio.
