Job summary

Capita, in collaboration with Selborne and HMS Sultan, seeks a Workshop/Handskills Trainer to deliver focused mechanical craft training. You will mentor trainees to build core engineering skills, with full teacher training provided on site and end-to-end support to succeed.

The role is full-time (37.5 hours/week) on site, with UK security clearance at SC level required. Salary is pro rata and benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Engineering background in mechanical or fabrication fields.
• Minimum Level 3 qualification or higher.
• Hands-on workshop experience with hand tools and machinery.
• Competence with basic IT hardware/software.
• Willingness to learn and develop as a trainer with strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high‑quality training in Mechanical Craft and Fabrication.
• Introduce and develop practical hand skills (fitting and filing).
• Teach interpretation of basic technical drawings.
• Instruct on safe use of workshop equipment and PPE.
• Coach, mentor and give constructive feedback to learners.
