Cardiff Council / Cyngor Caerdydd is seeking a Cook in Charge at Bryn Celyn Primary School to oversee all catering facility operations. The post requires cooking to a high standard, strong communication, and managing service activities within health and safety guidelines.
The role is term-time only, part-time permanent, with 25 hours per week across 39 weeks per year, reflecting school term times.
Cardiff Education Catering operates a service to circa 120 Secondary, Primary, and Special schools in Cardiff through 500 staff producing around 4 million meals per annum, providing breakfast, lunch and therapeutic diets for pupils, vending services and occasion catering for business meetings.
The Cook in Charge will be responsible for managing all aspects of the business and service activities in the catering facility.
The applicant will be required to work term time only, be able to demonstrate the ability to cook to a high standard, have good communication skills and help with all aspects of the business, working in accordance with health, safety & hygiene legislation.

Actual Salary: £15,721 per annum. This salary is based on working 25 hours per week and 39 weeks per year, rather than a full-time role of 37 hours per week and 52 weeks per year.
Please note: The salary shown assumes a start date of 1 September. If you start after 1 September, your salary for your first school year will be lower than the amount shown above because you will work fewer weeks.
