Job summary

Cardiff Council’s Education & Lifelong Learning service is seeking an Assistant Cook to support the Kitchen Manager in a busy catering facility serving circa 120 schools in Cardiff. The role is part time, term time, 25 hours per week across 39 weeks per year, with an actual salary of £15,234 per annum.

You will be part of a team, flexible and adaptable, and capable of working independently when needed. DBS checks are required, and safeguarding is a priority in our schools.

Cardiff Education Catering operates a service to circa 120 Secondary, Primary, and Special schools in Cardiff through 500 staff producing around 4 million meals per annum, providing breakfast, lunch and therapeutic diets for pupils, vending services and occasion catering for business meetings.

Additional information

Actual Salary: £15,234 per annum. This salary is based on working 25 hours per week and 39 weeks per year, rather than a full-time role of 37 hours per week and 52 weeks per year.

Please note: The salary shown assumes a start date of 1 September. If you start after 1September, your salary for your first school year will be lower than the amount shown above because you will work fewer weeks.
