Job summary

Aspen Grange Care Home is seeking an experienced chef to assist in running the kitchen and meal experience for our elderly residents. You will design a varied menu and lead a kitchen team to deliver high-quality meals that support wellbeing and quality of life.

We offer a comprehensive induction, ongoing training, and a DBS check is required. Flexibility to work alternate weekends is preferred in this role at our care home in Essex.

Qualifications

• You should have recent experience of cooking for large numbers in a commercial setting.
• You must have previously managed and motivated a catering team.
• You’ll have experience of providing food for people with special dietary requirements.
• We’d like someone who is flexible, who can work alternate weekends.

Responsibilities

• Designing a varied menu that reflects our residents' tastes and supports their nutritional needs.
• Ensuring mealtimes are always a high-quality experience.
• Maintaining the highest food standards.
• Supporting, training and directing the kitchen team
• Mentoring and motivating on quality, safety, hygiene and cleanliness standards.
• Assisting the Home Manager in developing and managing the budgetary, human and material resources within the department.

You’ll be responsible for our residents' meal experience and running the nursing home's kitchen. Leading and supporting a team, you will:

• Designing a varied menu that reflects our residents' tastes and supports their nutritional needs.
• Ensuring mealtimes are always a high-quality experience.
