Job summary

Bridge House is seeking a talented chef to help run the kitchen and deliver nourishing meals for our elderly residents. You will design menus, oversee food preparation, ensure high standards, train and motivate the kitchen team, and support the Home Manager with budget and resources.

With DBS clearance and experience cooking for large numbers, you will bring flexibility and a commitment to quality. This is a hands-on role at our care home, offering a rewarding career with development

Qualifications

• Recent experience cooking for large numbers in a commercial setting.
• Must have previously managed and motivated a catering team.
• Experience providing food for people with special dietary requirements.

Responsibilities

• Design a varied menu reflecting residents’ tastes and nutritional needs.
• Ensure mealtimes are a high-quality experience.
• Maintain the highest food standards.
• Support, train and direct the kitchen team.
• Mentor and motivate on quality, safety, hygiene and cleanliness standards.
• Assist the Home Manager in developing and managing department resources.

You’ll be responsible for our residents’ meal experience and running the nursing home’s kitchen.

Responsibilities

• Designing a varied menu that reflects our residents’ tastes and supports their nutritional needs.
• Ensuring mealtimes are always a high-quality experience.

• Supporting, training and directing the kitchen team.

• We'd like someone who is flexible, who can work alternate weekends.
• An enhanced DBS check is required for this role.
