Job summary

Sodexo is hiring a Cook at a Ministry of Defence site in Aylesbury. You will work 40 hours per week, 5 days out of 7, with shifts from 05:00–13:30 or 11:00–19:30 and a pay rate of £14 per hour.

You’ll join a professional catering team delivering fresh, nutritious meals to military personnel and supporting high standards of safety and service. Whether an experienced cook or progressing in catering, you’ll be part of a structured environment that values your development and delivers a rewarding

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Chef or Cook in catering or hospitality.
• Good knowledge of food safety, hygiene and health and safety standards.
• Able to work well as part of a team in a busy kitchen.
• Catering qualification is desirable, but not essential.
• Experience in military or government catering would be an advantage.
• IOSH qualification and basic knowledge of Microsoft Office desirable.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and serve high-quality meals in a busy, professional kitchen.
• Deliver delicious, well-presented food to military personnel, maintaining high standards.
• Work with front-of-house to provide friendly, efficient service.
• Maintain food safety, hygiene and cleanliness following EHO guidelines and Sodexo procedures.
• Support bulk cooking while ensuring every dish is consistent and fresh.
• Assist in special functions and high-profile events, showcasing cooking creativity.
