Job summary

Sodexo Group is hiring a Cook for a full-time site kitchen in Bulford, Wiltshire. The role involves cooking for military personnel, following hygiene standards and maintaining quality across busy service periods.

You will join a supportive team with established shift patterns across 40 hours per week, starting early shifts and ensuring a reliable catering operation every day.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Cook/Chef in catering, hospitality or food service.
• Culinary passion and ability to prepare high-quality meals.
• Basic food safety and hygiene understanding; IOSH qualification desirable.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and serve fresh high-quality meals in a busy kitchen.
• Maintain presentation, quality and consistency of every meal.
• Follow food safety and health & safety standards (EHO).
• Work as part of a professional catering team to deliver efficient service.

What you’ll do:

• Prepare, cook, and serve fresh, high-quality meals within a busy kitchen environment
• Take pride in the presentation, quality and consistency of every meal you prepare
• Follow food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards in line with EHO requirements
• Work as part of a friendly and professional catering team to deliver an efficient service
• Prepare meals for military personnel, ensuring a consistent and enjoyable dining experience
• Keep the kitchen clean, organised and ready for service
• Support events and special functions, giving you the opportunity to showcase your cooking skills
• Take responsibility for bulk cooking while maintaining high standards across all dishes

What you bring:

• Previous experience as a Cook or Chef within a catering, hospitality, or food service environment
• Culinary experience and a genuine passion for preparing good-quality food
• Relevant culinary qualifications such as City & Guilds 706/1 & 2 or NVQ Level 2/3 in Professional Cookery are desirable
• Good knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards (IOSH qualification desirable)
• The ability to work efficiently as part of a busy kitchen team while maintaining high standards
• A positive attitude, good attention to detail and pride in your work
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook
