Job summary

Little Pioneers is seeking a dedicated Cook to lead the nutrition and meal preparation for our nursery children. You will create healthy, balanced meals, oversee kitchen operations and help educate families on nutritious choices, working within our policies and high standards.

You will follow Food Standards Agency guidelines, ensure safety and quality in food handling, and benefit from DBS checks being covered. Flexible, 4-day week options support work-life balance.

Qualifications

• DBS check required (costs covered)
• Food Hygiene level 2 or equivalent
• Sound knowledge of food safety, HACCP and COSHH requirements
• Experience catering for large numbers

What will the role involve?

As our Cook, you will be the expert nutritionist for the nursery, responsible for the preparation and serving of healthy and nutritionally balanced meals. You will support the team to enable families to make healthy food choices and educate our children in the importance of balanced food choices. Working alongside our society’s policies and procedures, you will ensure compliance with the Food Standards Agency and work to the highest standards.

• An Enhanced DBS check (we’ll cover the costs!)
• Food Hygiene level 2 or equivalent
