Job summary

Greensleeves Care is seeking a Cook to contribute to creating meals that are balanced and suitable for residents with various dietary needs. You will work with the Head Chef to prepare, cook and serve meals, ensuring high hygiene standards and proper stock management.

You will lead staff in a pressured environment and help maintain a clean, safe kitchen in line with care home requirements. The role emphasizes understanding nutrition for residents, providing meals for special occasions, and

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and serve meals for residents.

As aCook, you will:

• In conjunction with the Head Chef, contribute to creating meals for menus which incorporate choice, are balanced and which are suitable to special diets, such as low-fat,diabetic or those as a result of religious beliefs.
• Cater for special occasions within the home
• Have awareness of stocks and purchases thereby allocating the quantity of materials.
• Prepare, cook and serve meals. Clear and wash up with the assistance of other staff.
• Ensure that the kitchen hygiene and safety rules are observed by all staff.
• Ensure that all kitchen staff clean the kitchen after use and at the end of each shift leavethe kitchen in a clean and hygienic state.
