Job summary

Allscreens Nationwide Ltd is seeking a reliable cook to join our busy kitchen at The Grove Skellingthorpe Care Centre. The role focuses on delivering nutritious, home-style meals with attention to quality and presentation while adhering to home budgets and policies.

The successful candidate will have NVQ Level 2 in Catering (or equivalent) and a basic Food Hygiene certificate, with experience in care or hospital catering preferred but not essential as full training is provided.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Catering or equivalent qualification.
• Knowledge of textured and modified diets.
• Experience in a care, hospital or commercial kitchen is advantageous but training can be provided.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to relate to residents with kindness and courtesy.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve meals and beverages as required.
• Work in accordance with home policies.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene in the kitchen.
• Order food and manage resources effectively.
• Report issues raised by service users to the Care Centre Manager.
• Attend mandatory and in-house training as required.
• Understand COSHH requirements.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene records.

Cook - The Grove Skellingthorpe Care Centre

13 hours Available.

We are recruiting for a reliable and experience cook to join our busy kitchen and team. A person who has high standards in quality and presentation, delivering the very best nutritional meals.

You would be able to work within budgets as set by the home manager.

At Welbourn Manor Care Centre our residents prefer good old fashioned home cooking for example: Sunday Roast's and for puddings our residents enjoy a jam sponge or crumble with custard.

For Birthdays we make a special effort to celebrate so our Cooks and KA's make a range of cakes and sponges for these special occasion's

If you have a passion for cooking and a passion for the elderly and would like to join a supportive and inclusive team then this could be the role for you!

The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS / PVG check.

As a Cook you will be responsible for:

• To prepare and serve meals and beverages as required.
• To work in accordance with the homes policies.
• To carry out kitchen duties ensuring a high standard of hygiene at all times.
• To use resources effectively and order food.
• Report any issues or matters raised by service users concerning catering to the Care Centre Manager
• Attend mandatory and in house training as required
• Understand COSHH
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene records as required

As Cook it preferable for you to have:

• Minimum qualification NVQ Level 2 or 706/2 in Catering, Basic or Intermediate Food Hygiene certificate
• Knowledge of textured and modified diets
• Experience in a care, hospital or commercial kitchen setting would be advantageous but not essential as full training can be provided
• Have good verbal and written skills
• To have the ability to relate to our residents in a kind and courteous manner
