Job summary

St Philips Family is seeking a reliable Cook for The Maple Care Centre in Skellingthorpe. The role focuses on preparing nutritious meals, maintaining hygiene, and following budgets and policies within a care home setting.

You will cater to residents with traditional meals, support textures and modified diets, and participate in mandatory training while building rapport with service users in a respectful, caring environment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum qualification NVQ Level 2 or 706/2 in Catering, Basic or Intermediate Food Hygiene certificate
  • Knowledge of textured and modified diets
  • Experience in a care, hospital or commercial kitchen setting would be advantageous but not essential as full training can be provided
  • Have good verbal and written skills
  • To have the ability to relate to our residents in a kind and courteous manner

Responsibilities

  • To prepare and serve meals and beverages as required.
  • To work in accordance with the homes policies.
  • To carry out kitchen duties ensuring a high standard of hygiene at all times.
  • To use resources effectively and order food.
  • Report any issues or matters raised by service users concerning catering to the Care Centre Manager
  • Attend mandatory and in house training as required
  • Understand COSHH
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene records as required

Cook - The Grove Skellingthorpe Care Centre

We are recruiting for a reliable and experience cook to join our busy kitchen and team. A person who has high standards in quality and presentation, delivering the very best nutritional meals.

You would be able to work within budgets as set by the home manager.

At The Maple Care Centre our residents prefer good old fashioned home cooking for example: Sunday Roast's and for puddings our residents enjoy a jam sponge or crumble with custard.

For Birthdays we make a special effort to celebrate so our Cooks and KA's make a range of cakes and sponges for these special occasion's

If you have a passion for cooking and a passion for the elderly and would like to join a supportive and inclusive team then this could be the role for you!

The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS / PVG check.

As a Cook you will be responsible for:
