Job summary

Fairlawn Residential Home is seeking a Cook to prepare nutritious breakfasts and lunches for residents in a care home. The role requires working 3 mornings per week, with some weekend shifts, and ensuring meals meet individual dietary needs and dietary restrictions.

You will maintain a clean, safe kitchen in compliance with current food safety and hygiene regulations, handle all preparation duties, and adapt meals for residents with diabetes, gluten intolerance, or other prescribed diets.

Job description

The Cook will work 3 mornings per week, including some weekends, and will be responsible for preparing and cooking nutritious breakfasts and lunches for residents in the care home.

Key duties will include maintaining a clean and safe kitchen, carrying out all food preparation and cleaning duties, and ensuring that current food safety, food handling and hygiene regulations are followed at all times.

The Cook will cater for residents with individual dietary requirements and special diets, including diabetic, gluten-free and other prescribed dietary needs, ensuring meals are prepared safely and appropriately.
