Job summary

Nazareth is recruiting a Cook to join our care home kitchen. You will prepare and cook meals for residents, ensuring food hygiene and safety regulations are met while supporting the day-to-day kitchen operations.

The role involves participating in meal preparation and serving, maintaining cleanliness, and assisting the Catering Manager to run the kitchen efficiently within budget. DBS/PVG checks are required and training is provided.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate required.
• NVQ Level 2 in Catering desirable.
• Good communication and time management skills required.

Responsibilities

Job description

We have an opportunity for a Cook position at our care home. The main purpose of this role is to assist in the preparation and provision of meals, have the responsibility for the day to day running of the kitchen ensuring compliance with relevant Health & Safety and Food Hygiene requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities

• To prepare and cook food in accordance with food hygiene regulations
• To be involved with the preparation and serving of all meals
• Participate in general kitchen duties as required
• To ensure high standard of hygiene and cleanliness are adhered to and maintained at all times within the kitchen
• You will support the Catering Manager to operate the kitchen effectively and efficiently working within a budget

All posts offered are subject to two satisfactory references and an enhanced DBS or PVG disclosure.

About You

As a Cook, you will prepare and cook food in accordance with food hygiene regulations, providing high quality catering for our residents. The role would suit someone who has a passionate about food and can delivery good quality catering services. The ideal person for this role would have good communication skills, flexible approach, have the ability to prioritise tasks and have excellent time management skills.

A minimum of Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate and an understand of Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points is essential. S/NVQ level 2 in Catering and Hospitality would be desirable.
