Orchid Healthcare Ltd is seeking a dedicated Cook for a luxury nursing home in Whitchurch. You will prepare nutritious, diet-sensitive meals for elderly residents, while supporting staff and maintaining high kitchen standards.

The role involves deputising for the Head Chef, engaging with residents, and ensuring meals meet IDDSI guidelines and cultural needs. 40 hours per week, £28,080 per year, on-site position.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Our client, a luxury nursing home in Whitchurch, is currently looking to recruit a passionate Cook to help provide nutritious and diet-sensitive meals to their elderly residents.

The Role

• Cooking & Meal Prep: Prepare nutritious and satisfying meals for residents, supporting specific dietary requirements such as IDDSI (International Dysphagia Diet Standardisation Initiative) frameworks and cultural or religious needs.
• Leadership: Work alongside and deputise for the Head Chef in their absence, helping lead the kitchen team and maintain a safe working environment.
• Resident Engagement: Liaise directly with residents and participate in resident dining experience committees to ensure satisfaction.
• Hygiene & Compliance: Maintain high kitchen cleanliness and hygiene standards to ensure readiness for Environmental Health Officer (EHO) inspections.
