Job summary

Exemplar Health Care is seeking a Cook for Primrose Place care home in Coalville. You will prepare, cook and serve nourishing meals suitable for varied dietary needs, contributing to a positive dining experience for residents.

With a focus on teamwork and high hygiene standards, you will help shape a new kitchen culture and support the wider Catering Team. A food hygiene certificate and catering qualification are preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Cook in a care home or similar setting.
• Ability to create nutritious meals for varied dietary needs.
• Strong verbal and written communication with colleagues and residents.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and serve meals.
• Develop suitable menus by understanding residents’ needs and preferences.
• Interact with residents to collect feedback on meals.
• Maintain high food hygiene standards and complete checks.
• Maintain records and work as part of the Catering Team.

Are you an experienced Cook looking for a new challenge? Join us as our new Cook at Primrose Placecare home in Coalville.

Meal times are an important part of our daily routine, even more so for those living in care homes. In this role, you’ll ensure everyone has a positive dining experience and cook healthy and nutritious meals for the people we support.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of something new. You’ll have the chance to shape the culture of a brand new team, in a state of the art, purpose built home designed with the people we support in mind.

About the role

Our Cooks make delicious and nourishing meals for people with a range of dietary requirements.

No two days will ever be the same, but your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• preparing,cooking and serving food
• understanding people’s needs, likes and choices todevelop suitable menus
• interacting with the people we support to getfeedback on meals
• complying withfood hygiene standards
• completing relevantchecks and maintaining records
• being a greatteam player, working as part of the wider Catering Team.

If you haven’t worked in the care sector before, we’ll help you feel right at home from the start with our induction, buddy, and ongoing training programmes.

Above all, you’re someone who identifies with our values of fun, integrity, responsiveness, success and teamwork.

You’re also:

• a cook with a flair for creating delicious and nutritious meals for varied dietary requirements
• creative in menu development and food preparation
• an excellent team player
• adaptable and flexible
• someone with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

We like our Cooks to have a food hygiene certificate and a relevant catering qualification, but these aren’t necessary.
