Job summary

Exemplar Health Care in Castleford is seeking an experienced Cook to prepare delicious, nutritious meals for residents at Wheldale Heights care home. You will cook, serve and tailor menus to dietary needs, supporting a positive dining experience and promoting wellbeing throughout the day.

Day to day you’ll follow food hygiene standards, maintain records and work as part of the Catering Team. A food hygiene certificate and catering qualification are preferred but training is provided.

Qualifications

• Experience as a cook in a care or similar setting.
• Ability to develop menus for varied dietary needs.
• Understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and serve meals for residents.
• Develop suitable menus based on residents' needs and preferences.
• Interact with residents to obtain feedback on meals.
• Maintain food hygiene standards and keep records.

Are you an experienced Cook looking for a new challenge? Join us as our new Cook at Wheldale Heights care home in Castleford. In this role, you’ll cook delicious, healthy and nutritious meals for the people we support in our care home. Meal times are an important part of our daily routine, even more so for those living in care homes. In this role, you’ll ensure that everyone has a positive dining experience, to increase nutritional intake, promote social interaction and build a sense of community. This is an exciting opportunity to use your cooking skills to make a real difference every day.

• complying with food hygiene standards
• completing relevant checks and maintaining records
