Job summary

Clear Legal & Financial Recruitment is seeking an experienced Conveyancing Team Leader for a busy residential property department in Middlesbrough. You will lead a team, manage your own caseload and drive ongoing growth with focus on client care and compliance.

The role requires extensive residential conveyancing know-how, a track record of supervising teams, and a strong commercial approach to develop relationships with clients, agents and referrers while upholding CQS standards.

Qualifications

• 10+ years' PQE or equivalent experience.
• Extensive residential conveyancing experience.
• Experience managing or supervising a conveyancing team.
• Strong knowledge of freehold and leasehold transactions.
• Excellent client care and communication skills.
• Understanding of CQS requirements and quality standards.
• Commercial and business development mindset; able to grow the department.

Job description

An established law firm in Middlesbrough is looking to recruit an experienced Conveyancing Team Leader to manage and develop a busy residential property department.

The Role

You will lead a team within the conveyancing department while managing your own caseload and supporting the continued growth of the department.

You will handle a varied range of residential property matters, including:

• Freehold and leasehold sales and purchases
• Re-mortgages
• New build transactions
• Help to Buy
• Lease extensions
• Buy-to-let matters

You will also be responsible for maintaining the firm's CQS accreditation, ensuring high standards of compliance and client care across the department.

Business Development

The successful candidate will play an active role in growing the department by:

• Developing and maintaining strong client relationships
• Building relationships with estate agents, brokers and other referrers
• Generating new business opportunities
• Promoting the firm's residential property services

About You

We are looking for a qualified Solicitor, Chartered Legal Executive or Licensed Conveyancer with:

• 10+ years' PQE or equivalent experience
• Extensive residential conveyancing experience
• Previous experience managing or supervising a conveyancing team
• Strong knowledge of freehold and leasehold transactions
• Excellent client care and communication skills
• A strong understanding of CQS requirements
• A commercial and business development mindset
• The ability to manage workloads while supporting and developing a team

Experience in freehold and leasehold commercial property work is desirable but not essential.
