Job summary

Automation Experts Ltd is seeking an experienced Controls & Robotics Integration Engineer in Gloucestershire to design, develop and commission bespoke automation systems for manufacturers across the UK and overseas. The role blends office engineering with regular customer-site work.

You will program control and robotic solutions across sectors such as FMCG and plastics, manage project technicals, and mentor colleagues while travelling up to ~40% internationally.

Qualifications

• Proven industrial controls & robotics programming and integration experience.
• PLC programming using Rockwell and/or Siemens platforms.
• HMI, SCADA and industrial network programming.
• Experience with leading robot manufacturers including Fanuc, ABB, Kawasaki or Nachi.
• Experience within manufacturing or industrial automation environments.
• Knowledge of industrial control systems and industrial networking.
• Strong fault-finding and commissioning skills.
• Excellent communication and customer-facing skills.

Responsibilities

• Concept design & integration of PLC, HMI & SCADA systems including networking requirements - Rockwell and/or Siemens.
• Programming and integrating industrial robotic systems - Fanuc experience ideal.
• Developing complete control architecture solutions.
• Supporting system design from concept through to commissioning.
• Installing, commissioning and optimising systems on customer sites.
• Fault finding and supporting existing installations.
• Managing technical aspects of projects.
• Working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Supporting and mentoring colleagues in control & robotics technologies.
• Ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high technical standard.
