Job summary

Omega Resource Group is seeking a Controls Engineer to join a Cheltenham/Tewkesbury based team, handling turnkey automation projects across industries from concept to commissioning.

The role involves PLC/HMI/SCADA programming, on-site installation, and travel across the UK and internationally; you will collaborate with mechanical and electrical design teams to deliver complete automation solutions and mentor junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Experience with industrial control systems and PLC programming on Allen Bradley and Siemens.
• Experience with EtherNET/IP and ProfiNET networks.
• Manufacturing or automation environment experience; strong fault finding and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Program PLCs, HMI/Touch Screens, SCADA and industrial network systems.
• Design and develop bespoke control systems for automation projects.
• Work closely with panel builders to ensure systems are built to specification.
• Carry out on-site installation and commissioning activities.
• Provide service, support and fault finding on existing customer systems.
• Manage projects through all stages from concept, design and build to final handover.
• Liaise directly with customers and suppliers throughout project delivery.
• Train and mentor junior engineers and other team members.
• Ensure projects are delivered on time and to the highest standards.
• Travel throughout the UK and internationally to support installations and commissioning activities.
