Modine Manufacturing Company is seeking a Controls Engineer to join the Controls Department in Product Development. You will develop software to automate mechanical components and collaborate with cross-functional teams on both new platform projects and key customer initiatives.

The role emphasizes innovation, reliability, and precision, with responsibility for software improvements and test validation in a fast-paced environment. On-site in the UK, strong technical aptitude is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience with PLC or microcontroller technology and IEC61131 programming languages.
• Knowledge of closed loop control systems and PID.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Understanding of ergonomic display and web-based user interfaces (HMI, SCADA, touch screens).
• Good knowledge of electronics and electrical systems.
• Basic understanding of mechanical systems and thermodynamics.
• Knowledge of serial communication protocols (Modbus, BACnet, Ethernet TCP/IP).
• Degree in Engineering discipline (Electrical/Software/Mechatronics/Robotics/CS).
• Desire to develop innovative solutions with independent work and initiative.
• Desirable: HVAC or BMS controls experience and datacentre HVAC familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Develop and test software solutions that automate mechanical components of Modine products.
• Ensure quality, consistency and safety of products per standards and regulations.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams on platform and customer projects with deadlines.
• Pursue market-leading technical advances for efficiency, reliability and precision.
• Manage software changes, bug fixes and release/version control.
• Support manufacturing to ensure product quality from factory.
• Assist R&D lab with validation testing and concept projects.
• Attend supplier meetings to identify opportunities for innovation and create technical docs.
