Job summary

Reevr is seeking a Control and Automation Engineer in Bournemouth to develop, improve and support control systems across a growing product range. This role blends controls hardware, software development, HMIs and system integration for new products and for modernising existing systems.

You could come from PLC automation, embedded systems or industrial software; the work spans design, integration with mechanical/electrical teams and documentation. A broad tech curiosity is valued.

Qualifications

• Experience with PLCs and industrial control systems.
• Knowledge of CODESYS and IEC 61131-3 Structured Text.
• Programming experience in Python, C or C# for control software.
• Experience with HMIs and PC- or web-based control apps.
• Exposure to hardware interfaces, motor controllers and sensors.
• Experience with software version control and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Design control and automation systems for new products.
• Develop software applications, HMIs and user interfaces.
• Specify PLCs, motor controllers and hardware components.
• Integrate controls, software and hardware into complete products.
• Collaborate with suppliers and subcontractors on components and firmware.
• Support and troubleshoot existing and legacy control systems.
• Contribute to design reviews, project plans and technical documentation.
• Work with Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics and Manufacturing teams.
• Help improve engineering processes and product compliance.
• Investigate new technologies, platforms and development tools.
