Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR in Wolverhampton is seeking a controls and instrumentation engineer to maintain and develop control systems across operations, with a Monday to Friday 7:00am-3:00pm pattern and a salary of £45,000-£50,000 plus excellent benefits.

The role focuses on diagnosing faults, supporting plant reliability, and driving continuous improvement through DCS, PLC and process control upgrades, with opportunities for further electrical qualifications.

Qualifications

  • Experience in Controls & Instrumentation, Electrical or Automation engineering.
  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of DCS, instrumentation, control systems and industrial processes.
  • Maintenance and continuous improvement mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and troubleshoot C&I systems.
  • Support plant reliability and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Diagnose faults and implement corrective actions.
  • Assist with automation, DCS, PLC, and process control improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and engineering standards.
  • Support project work and system upgrades as required.
