Job summary

AES is seeking a Controls & Automation Engineer to design, write software, test and commission turnkey automated systems from concept to handover. Location is Worcestershire, with a salary in the £40k–£50k range and excellent benefits and prospects.

You'll work on automation projects across automotive and aerospace sectors, using Siemens TIA Portal, WinCC, Sinamic drives and Rockwell platforms, interfacing with Profinet/Profisafe, Modbus and OPC UA/DA networks.

Qualifications

• Experience in the design of controls for bespoke automated systems.
• Familiarity with Siemens TIA Portal and related hardware/software.
• Ability to interpret customer specifications and translate into designs.

Responsibilities

• Write software for turnkey automated systems.
• Test and commission turnkey automated systems.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary design and engineering teams.

Due to sustained continued expansion they require a Controls & Automation Engineer to write software, test & commission turnkey automated systems.

We anticipate that you will have:

• Experience in the design of Controls for Bespoke Automated Systems.
• Working familiarity with the following advantageous but not essential: Siemens TIA Portal / Siemens / Simatic WinCC / Siemens Sinamic drives / Profinet & Profisafe Networks / Modbus TCP/IP, Modbus RTU, OPC UA/DA / Prodiag / Inductive Automation Ignition platform / Rockwell RSLogix 5000/Studio 5000
• Ability to interpret customer specifications & evaluate customer products & designs.

You will be self-motivated, have excellent communication skills both written and oral, be computer literate, and able to work as part of a team.
