Wolviston Management Services are recruiting a Control Systems Engineer for a permanent role in Middlesbrough, supporting a chemical manufacturing client. The role focuses on hands-on control systems design, fault-finding and process optimisation using Siemens PCS7 and S7 PLCs.

You will collaborate with engineering, maintenance and production teams to improve control performance, support capital projects and contribute to process safety and regulatory compliance within a demanding plant

Qualifications

• HNC/HND/Degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, Instrumentation or related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
• Extensive hands-on experience with Siemens PCS7 and S7 PLC systems.
• Proven experience designing, developing, commissioning and maintaining industrial control systems.
• Good knowledge of COMAH regulations and industrial process safety standards.

Responsabilités

• Designing, developing and maintaining control systems using Siemens PCS7 and S7 PLCs.
• Troubleshooting complex control system faults to minimise downtime and maintain production efficiency.
• Developing and implementing control strategies for batch manufacturing processes.
• Supporting the delivery of capital projects, including system testing, commissioning and start-up activities.
• Working with engineering, maintenance and production teams to improve process control and operational performance.
• Participating in HAZOP studies, LOPA assessments and process safety reviews.
• Developing and maintaining safety-related control programming in accordance with IEC 61511.
• Implementing OT cybersecurity measures in line with IEC 62443.
• Managing alarm systems in accordance with IEC 62682 to support operator response.
