Job summary

Trant Engineering Ltd. is seeking a Control Panel Test Engineer for our workshop near Totton, Southampton. The role focuses on inspecting, testing and verifying control panels, MCCs and automation systems to ensure safety, reliability and compliance with BS EN 61439-2 and client specifications.

You will support FATs, prepare handover documentation and assist with fault finding during test phases to guarantee products are fit for purpose and ready for dispatch.

Qualifications

NVQ Level 3 / HNC / HND in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
Strong knowledge of BS EN 61439-2:2021 testing.
Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and GA drawings.
Proven experience testing control panels, MCCs or automation systems.
Knowledge of safe isolation practices.

Responsibilities

Inspect, test, and verify control panels, MCCs and automation systems prior to dispatch.
Ensure compliance with BS EN 61439-2 and client requirements.
Prepare final documentation for handover to clients.
Support FATs with clients or inspectors and assist fault finding.
