Job summary

Kinetic plc in Wallsend is seeking an experienced Electrical Technician to join our engineering manufacturing team on a secure, long-term temporary contract. You will assemble, wire, and test specialised control panels for high-spec energy and industrial applications.

The role requires interpreting schematics, wiring relays and PLCs, and performing initial inspections and fault-finding. Night shifts may be required in the long term, so flexibility is essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an Electrical Technician with a strong background in control panel building.
• Previous experience within Oil & Gas, subsea or heavy engineering is desirable.
• Relevant recognised electrical qualification, NVQ or City and Guilds with working experience.

Responsibilities

• Point-to-point wiring, assembly, and integration of control panels to exact client specs and safety standards.
• Interpret electrical schematics, engineering drawings, and layout diagrams accurately.
• Fit relays, PLCs, terminal blocks, circuit breakers, and associated hardware.
• Carry out initial electrical inspections, continuity checks, and fault-finding prior to testing.
