Job summary

Thames Water is seeking an Instrument Control and Automation (ICA) Technician to join our team at Bishops Stortford STW. The role focuses on installing, commissioning, maintaining, and repairing water production assets, with emphasis on relay logic and PLC systems.

You will support apprentices and collaborate with contractors to uphold safety and performance standards. The position offers a 38-hour week (Mon-Fri), standby and overtime opportunities, and a competitive package including pension

Qualifications

• Qualified in instrumentation, control and automation disciplines (HNC/NVQ3 or equivalent).
• 18th Edition (BS7671) qualification preferred.
• Ability to read and fault-find from circuit diagrams and wiring schematics.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, maintain, and repair water production assets including level instrumentation and flow meters.
• Work with SCADA systems, PLCs, and process control networks.
• Liaise with and supervise contractors and suppliers as needed.
• Provide specialist technical advice and training support for apprentices.
