Job summary

Headley Professional Recruitment Ltd is sourcing a Contracts Manager for interior fit-out projects across the Barnsley/Doncaster/Rotherham region. You will oversee projects from inception to snagging, controlling timescales, costs and progress, and keeping senior management updated.

The role requires 5+ years in contract management for main contractors, strong organisational and communication skills, and the ability to work unsupervised in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience as Contracts Manager for main contractors.
• Experience in the shopfitting and interior fit-out sector.
• Excellent time-keeping and ability to manage own workload and deadlines.
• A proactive, organised approach with high attention to detail.
• Good IT skills, including Excel and Microsoft Project.
• Professional qualification in project management desirable.

Job description

We are recruiting a Contracts Manager for our client in the Barnsley/Doncaster/Rotherham area. The company are a construction main contractor who offer a full construction service from inception to completion for Blue Chip clients within the Retail, Student Accommodation, Healthcare, Leisure, Industrial and Commercial Sectors. They work with clients such as Pure Gym, M&S, the NHS, John Lewis etc... They work on refurbishments, interior fit outs and construction projects between £0.25 and £5 million in value. Projects can be nationwide so you must be willing to travel across the UK to visit schemes.

We are looking for a Contracts Manager with experience of running interiors fit out projects of various sizes. You must have excellent organisational and communication skills, be able to manage a varied workload and work well in a fast paced and reactive environment. This is a key position in the business and requires an organised and proactive approach. You will need to work unsupervised and be effective in managing your own time and workloads. You will oversee the planning, co-ordination and control of all projects assigned to you from inception to the completion of all snagging and will control project timescales, costs and progress and keep the Senior Management Team informed of these.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities:

Required skills and experience:

• 5+ years previous experience as a Contracts Manager working for main contractors

• A passion for delivering a professional service and quality product
• Ideal candidate will be friendly, proactive, have good organisational skills and have a high attention to detail
• Must have good IT skills - Microsoft skills including Excel and Project
• Professional qualification in project management desirable
