Job summary

Calibre Search is seeking an experienced Contract Manager to own live schemes and progress into Contracts Director. The role covers management across the North West, with contracts valued from £500k to £6 million and a total portfolio around £15 million.

You'll lead programmes, budgets and teams, build strong client and subcontractor relationships, and report on progress and financial performance to senior management, with a clear progression path.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Contract Manager or Senior Site Manager.
• Strong commercial awareness with a track record of budgeting and delivering to plan.
• SMSTS and CSCS qualifications are essential.
• Full UK driving licence with willingness to travel across the North West.

Responsibilities

• Manage programme, budget and resource planning across your contracts.
• Lead site teams and subcontractors, maintaining quality, safety and compliance.
• Build strong relationships with clients, consultants and supply chain.
• Spot risk early and address it before it becomes a problem.
• Support tender and pre-construction activity where needed.

Contract Manager - Genuine Route to Contracts Director

North West | Permanent | £80000 - £87000 + Package

Working with a well-established contractor operating across the North West, we're looking for an experienced Contract Manager to take ownership of live schemes and grow into a Contracts Director position over time. This is a business that invests in its people, and this role has been structured with a clear, supported progression path in mind - not just talked about at interview.

You'll take full responsibility for the safe, profitable, and on-programme delivery of your contracts, from award through to final account. You'll be the key point of contact for clients, subcontractors and your site teams, reporting into senior management on progress, budgets and forecasts.

You'll typically be running up to 3 individual contracts at any one time, ranging in value from £500k to £6 million, with a combined portfolio of circa £15 million.

ABOUT YOU

• Proven experience as a Contract Manager, Senior Site Manager or similar
• Strong commercial awareness with a track record of delivering to budget
• SMSTS, CSCS and relevant construction management qualifications
• Full UK driving licence, happy to travel to sites across the North West
• Ambitious - genuinely wants the next step up to Contracts Director
