Anderson Knight has an excellent new role for a Commercial Contracts Manager / Senior Quantity Surveyor for our client who is a Leading Multi Utilities business to be based out of Glasgow. This role would suit someone looking for a part-time 3 days a week opportunity.
You will have a Degree in Quantity Surveying and Commercial Management accredited by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).
The role is responsible for ensuring the business gets the best possible service and value from their supplier network, as well as ensuring all service providers are compliant and continue to meet contractual obligations and business needs. You will focus on providing the necessary pre and post contract and commercial support on a range of one-off and programmes of work. You will be able to combine strong commercial acumen with well-developed interpersonal, problem-solving, communication, and negotiation skills with demonstrable experience to support the business.
Responsibilities:
Client and supply chain contractual management
Identifying risks, opportunities, and any required actions
Management of client compensation event process, compensations, penalties, and contractual rates increase.
Oversee and be involved in site operational processes such as measure, compensation event identification, and cost base management
Maintain sustainable and productive relationships with existing clients
Manage contract negotiations with a focus on discrepancies, compensation events, and potential penalties
Assess risks involved with new initiatives, ensure deadlines are met, and be ready to handle unexpected situations
Analysing projects, e.g. impact on timing, revenue, and gross profit of changes to supply chain and client rates
Management and reporting of project prelims
Supporting the tender and estimating team as required
Develop accurate and consistent bids with the help of relevant departments
Manage QS teams working alongside the Ops Manager to ensure fluid collaboration and support
Minimum Requirements:
BSc/BEng in business administration, engineering, or relevant field
Degree in Quantity Surveying or Quantity Surveying and Commercial Management accredited by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS)
Excellent commercial acumen and contract management skills
Excellent knowledge of contractual agreements and law
Experience in a similar role at a similar level
Ability to communicate at all levels
Contract drafting and writing skills
Full driving licence
