Job summary

Randstad CPE is seeking an experienced Contracts Manager for a Berkshire-based heritage restoration contractor. Lead multiple projects, ensure timely delivery, accurate quotes, and drive excellence from start to finish.

You will manage client relations, coordinate with architects, oversee site teams, enforce CDM and RAMS, and push for continuous improvements while reporting to the MD.

Qualifications

• Experience with UK heritage/restoration contractors on multiple concurrent projects.
• Strong commercial acumen, programming skills, and team leadership.
• SMSTS, CSCS Black Card, and a full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Client & Commercial Lead: main contact for clients/architects, quotes/tenders, supplier deals, cost tracking.
• Management of Projects: run multiple projects, create programmes, manage site logistics, QA, snagging.
• Team Lead: supervise site teams and subcontractors, schedule, time tracking, annual reviews, hiring support.
• Health & Safety Lead: produce RAMS, Construction Phase Plans, inductions, inspections, CDM compliance.
• Work Logistics: report to MD; Monday–Friday, 07:30–17:00 (1 hour unpaid break).

OVERVIEW

We are working with a Berkshire based, family‑run construction company that specialises in the restoration of listed buildings, with both private and public sector clientele, including high‑net‑worth individuals across private estates and specialist architects and nationally recognised organisations.

OBJECTIVE

A Contracts Manager for this contractor is responsible for the successful completion of projects, ensuring they are delivered within the contractual timescales and exceed expectations.

• Client & Commercial Lead: Serve as the main point of contact for clients and architects, produce accurate quotes/tenders, negotiate supplier deals, and track project costs and variations.
• Management of Projects: Run multiple projects from start to finish; create work programmes, manage site logistics, enforce quality specifications, and handle post‑completion snagging.
• Team Lead: Supervise site teams and subcontractors, handle scheduling and time tracking, conduct annual reviews, and assist with hiring.
• Health & Safety Lead: Act as H&S Manager for your sites by producing RAMS and Construction Phase Plans, delivering inductions, doing inspections, and ensuring CDM compliance.
• Work Logistics: Reports to the MD; works Monday – Friday, 07:30‑17:00 (with a 1‑hour unpaid break).
