Job summary

Bennett and Game Recruitment LTD is seeking a Contracts Manager to lead shopfitting and refurbishment projects near Luton. You will drive safe, profitable delivery from pre-construction to completion, coordinating clients, subcontractors and internal teams to meet budget and quality standards.

The role requires strong leadership, superb organisation and excellent communication, with knowledge of JCT contracts and a track record in multi-project delivery.

Qualifications

• Experience as Contracts Manager in shopfitting, fit-out or construction.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods and health & safety.
• Commercial awareness with profitability experience.
• Familiarity with JCT contracts.
• Experience managing subcontractors and site teams.
• Ability to oversee multiple projects.
• Excellent communication and client-facing abilities.
• Proficient with MS Excel, Word and Outlook.
• SMSTS/CSCS desirable.
• Driving licence preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage projects from pre-construction through to completion and aftercare.
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and internal teams.
• Oversee project programmes, quality and commercial performance.
• Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations and company procedures.
• Build and maintain client and stakeholder relationships.
• Attend site visits, project meetings and progress reviews.
• Support tender enquiries and pre-construction planning activities.
• Monitor labour, materials and resource allocation across projects.
• Work with commercial teams on variations and final accounts.
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme and within budget.

Location: Based near Luton, Office-Based with Site Travel as Required

Job Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Contracts Manager to join a growing shopfitting and building services contractor delivering high-quality fit-out and refurbishment projects.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for the safe, profitable and efficient delivery of multiple projects from pre-construction through to completion and aftercare. Working closely with clients, subcontractors and internal teams, you will ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest standards.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced construction professional with strong commercial awareness, leadership capability and a proven background in managing fit-out or refurbishment projects.

Job Requirements

• Proven experience as a Contracts Manager within shopfitting, fit-out or construction
• Strong understanding of construction methods, health & safety and project delivery
• Commercial awareness with experience managing profitable projects
• Knowledge of JCT contracts and construction processes
• Experience managing subcontractors, suppliers and site teams
• Ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously
• Strong organisational, planning and leadership skills
• Excellent communication and client-facing ability
• Strong IT skills including Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
• SMSTS / CSCS desirable
• Full UK driving licence preferred
