Job summary

Building Careers UK Ltd is recruiting a Contracts Manager for roofing and cladding in the Cheshire / North West region. Contracts Manager - Roofing & Cladding

Location: Cheshire / North West

Salary: £55,000 - £65,000 + Car Allowance / Company Vehicle

Employment: Permanent

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Contracts Manager to join a well-established and growing roofing contractor based in Cheshire.

With a huge order book and a strong pipeline of work, the business is continuing to grow and is looking to strengthen its Contracts Management team with an experienced roofing professional.

The company delivers a wide range of commercial and industrial roofing solutions, working on projects from new-build installations through to refurbishment, maintenance and specialist roofing works.

The Role

As Contracts Manager, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of multiple roofing projects from contract award through to completion.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Managing multiple roofing projects from pre-start through to completion.
• Taking overall responsibility for project delivery, programme, quality and cost.
• Managing Site Managers, Supervisors, subcontractors and site-based teams.
• Coordinating labour, materials, plant and subcontract resources.
• Working closely with clients, main contractors and other project stakeholders.
• Attending pre-start, progress and client meetings.
• Monitoring project programmes and ensuring works remain on schedule.
• Managing project budgets and maintaining strong commercial control.
• Dealing with variations, valuations, applications for payment and final accounts.
• Identifying and managing potential commercial, technical and programme issues.
• Working closely with the estimating, procurement, design and operational teams.
• Ensuring projects are delivered in line with RAMS, health & safety and company procedures.
• Maintaining high standards of workmanship and quality across all projects.
• Managing client expectations and maintaining strong working relationships.
• Providing regular project updates and reports to senior management.
• Supporting the continued growth and development of the roofing division.

About You

The successful candidate will have proven experience within commercial or industrial roofing, ideally with previous experience as a Contracts Manager, Senior Contracts Manager, Project Manager or similar.

You will ideally have:

• Strong experience managing roofing projects from start to finish.
• Good knowledge of commercial and industrial roofing systems and installation methods.
• Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong commercial and contractual awareness.
• Experience managing Site Managers, Supervisors and subcontractors.
• Excellent client-facing and communication skills.
• Strong programme and project management abilities.
• A good understanding of health & safety and quality requirements.
• The ability to manage budgets, costs and project variations.
• Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
• The confidence to work independently and make decisions.
• A professional approach with a strong focus on project delivery and client satisfaction.
