Job summary

Sword is seeking a Contracts Engineer to shape how we manage customer and supplier contracts, ensuring commercial risks are identified and mitigated while enabling successful business outcomes.

You will review, draft and negotiate customer and supplier contracts, terms and conditions, MSAs, SOWs and NDAs, coordinating with Sales, Operations, Finance, Compliance and Legal to drive governance and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Experience reviewing and drafting commercial contracts (customer and supplier).
• Strong negotiation and communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to identify and mitigate commercial risks and liabilities.
• Proficiency with MS Office and contract management tools.

Responsibilities

• Review, draft and negotiate customer and supplier contracts, terms & conditions, framework agreements and commercial documentation.
• Identify contractual, commercial and operational risks and develop mitigation plans with stakeholders.
• Provide contractual guidance to Sales, Operations, Procurement and Project teams throughout the lifecycle.
• Coordinate contract reviews with Legal, Compliance, Finance, Procurement and Information Security.
• Manage contract approvals in line with governance and delegated authority.
• Develop and maintain standard contract templates, commercial clauses and documentation.
• Maintain an accurate contract repository, monitor renewals, notice periods and obligations.
• Support onboarding by reviewing contract requirements and commitments.
• Assist in resolution of contractual queries, variations and disputes.
• Promote best practice in contract management and drive continuous improvement.
• Build relationships with customers, suppliers and internal teams to support delivery and growth.
