Job summary

Advance TRS is seeking a CEM – Rail Civils on a contract basis to oversee civil delivery works across multiple sites. The role emphasizes delivery, safety, quality and interface coordination with other disciplines in major rail Civils projects, focusing on construction rather than design.

The successful engineer will lead a team of CREs, manage on-site activities from start to finish, and ensure compliance with standards and procedures while maintaining robust delivery programmes in challenging

Qualifications

• HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or equivalent
• CEM status held previously or currently
• Strong understanding of civils and interfaces between disciplines
• Knowledge of standards, processes and procedures

Responsibilities

• Engineer on delivery works for Civils and Rail projects.
• Act as CEM and manage a team of CREs.
• Carry out engineering responsibilities from start to finish on projects.
• Control all on-site technical activities and quality control.

Job title: CEM - Rail Civils

Type: Contract

Location:Birmingham, Oxford, Bedford

Rate: Dependant on experience

Role

You will be expected work within the rail aspects of delivery and associated works with the other disciplines and to deliver construction work safely to the level of quality expected. This role will be to manage works with a focus on civils at delivery stage of major projects. This is construction rather than design led within Civils and rail systems.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Undertaking the role of an engineer on delivery works
• Act as CEM managing a team of CREs
• Carrying out engineering responsibilities in project from start to finish
• Controlling all onsite technical activities and quality control.

Essential requirements:

• Education to HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or equivalent suitable experience.
• Comprehensive understanding of civils and related engineering principles, including interfaces between disciplines.
• Held CEM status previously
• Good knowledge and understanding of standards, processes and procedures.
