Job summary

Advance TRS in Birmingham seeks a Project Engineer Rail Civils on a contract basis to deliver civil engineering excellence within an NW+C framework. You will work on civil engineering on allocated contracts and act as technical contact.

The role requires chartered status or working towards MICE, with at least five years in civil works, and experience in design reviews, planning and delivery, plus liaison with clients and subcontractors.

Qualifications

• Chartered civil engineer (MICE) or working towards it.
• Five years relevant experience in civil works.
• Proven experience of managing planning, design reviews to delivery of civil works.

Responsibilities

• Ensure civil engineering on allocated contracts complies with standards.
• Act as civil engineering technical contact with clients and subcontractors to resolve issues.
• Ensure integration of design, installation and testing to meet client specs and maintain technical integrity.
• Carry out project risk assessments and assist Tendering in tenders.
• Attend engineering reviews as required for contracts.

I am looking for a DPE with a good Rail Civils background, to deliver civil engineering technical excellence for an engineering framework on NW+C.

Role

You will have previous experience working in a similar role within programmes from a Civil technical aspect. This role would suit an existing or previous engineer within buildings and civils

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Ensure the civil engineering on allocated company contracts are technically compliant with the relevant Group, client & company standards.
• Act as the civil engineering technical contact and liaison with clients and sub-contractors in order to resolve assurance issues.
• Ensure integration of design, installation and testing and that the end product meets the client specification and has technical integrity.
• Carry out project risk assessments. Assist the Tendering department in the preparation of Tenders.
• Attend engineering reviews as required for allocated contracts.

Essential requirements:

• Be a chartered civil engineer (MICE) or working towards it.
• Have five years relevant experience..
• Proven experience of managing and controlling the planning, design reviews to delivery of civil works

Desirable:

Although not essential it would also be advantageous if you have a degree in a relevant discipline such as rail Engineering.
